Snoqualmie Valley weighs two middle-school options
Snoqualmie Valley School District’s attendance boundary advisory committee presented the School Board with a list of proposed boundary changes Thursday.
The committee considered many ideas on how to accommodate the opening of Middle School No. 3 in North Bend next school year, and it narrowed its proposal to two options:
• Option “I”: This recommendation places all North Bend area students at the new middle school; places all Snoqualmie Ridge Phase 1 neighborhoods and Historic Snoqualmie students at Snoqualmie Middle School; and places Fall City area and Snoqualmie Ridge Phase 2 neighborhoods at Chief Kanim Middle School.
• Option “L”: This option places most North Bend-area students at the new middle school but places neighborhoods along Ribary Way, including Forster Woods, Harmon Heights and Rock Creek Ridge Apartments, at Snoqualmie Middle School. It also places Historic Snoqualmie and some Snoqualmie Ridge Phase 1 neighborhoods at Snoqualmie Middle School. Fall City and the Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhoods of Ironwood, Abbey Road, Woody Creek and Braeburn would be placed at Chief Kanim Middle School.
The School Board is considering the recommendations and will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Snoqualmie Elementary School, 39801 S.E. Park St.
The School Board plans to make a final decision at a special meeting Nov. 19.
