Three wounded by gunshots in Capitol Hill nightclub
A man opened fire in a Capitol Hill nightclub early this morning, wounding three people, according to Seattle police.
The shooting happened at Sugar Nightclub, located at 916 East Pike Street at about 1:30 a.m. On Sunday evenings, that club hosts events for those 18 years old and over.
A fight apparently broke out inside the club, and the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds, Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson said.
Three people were struck and taken to Harborview Medical Center. The most seriously injured person was a 22-year-old man who was hit in the abdomen. The injuries of an 18-year-old woman who was shot in the leg and a 20-year-old man who was shot in the arm were considered non-life threatening, said Jamieson.
The suspect, who was described as about 6-feet tall and 200 pounds, left the club and is still at large.
