Counselor’s license revoked over child-sex accusation
The state Department of Health has revoked for 20 years the credentials of a counselor in Pierce County over reports she had sex with a 10-year-old boy.
Jennifer Rice, who was working as a teacher at McKinley Elementary School in the Tacoma, is accused of taking the boy on a road trip in August without his parent’s permission and having sex with him on at least five occasions, the department said.
Rice, who failed to respond to the Department of Health about the case, has been charged with six counts of first degree child rape, four counts of first degree child molestation and two counts of third degree child rape.
Rice has been a registered counselor in Washington since 1999.
